Christmas Shop

The dates have been set for the Annual PTO Christmas Shop. It will be on Dec 7-9 from 11:00-2:00. As always most items are $5.00 and under. The kids always love to come and buy items for their friends and family. Don't forget to stop by or fill out the Santa gram that comes home. The kids really enjoy getting a note from you saying you love them. It's a great and inexpensive way to brighten their day. Hope to see you there. OH- if you can help volunteer to run or set up the store please call the school 255-2268 and let Amy know and she'll pass on your info to us.

SUCESS

Thanks everyone for another great carnival. It was a great success according to what I kept hearing last night. I really wish I could thank each of you individually, b/c with out every single person who was there it would not have happened. Especially thank you to all who volunteered and to all the local business who gave donations. HV PTO really appreciates you all. The total money raised will follow in a couple of days....stay tuned.

Newsletter

At the last Meeting:
We reviewed the items going on for the carnival and set dates for upcoming PTO meetings. Starting with the Nov meeting we will be meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month @ 6:15 in the library. Also, we are still in need of officers for PTO. Most importantly we need a Vice Pres/Elect. This person will be the president next year. In order to have PTO we need a president.

Carnival News:
The Annual Carnival will be here before we know it. This year we are asking for your help in a new way. We need you to send items to your child’s class to fill a basket for the auction. You will be receiving a letter from your child’s teacher with the theme for the basket. Also, remember you will be getting a phone call from your child’s room parent. We need you to help with the cake walk items and sodas. And lastly, you have received a letter about the country store. Please, if you are handy or crafty in any way, help us out. We really want this to be a great part of our fundraiser.Ticket sales begin Oct 5th and go thru the 19th. There will be prizes again for the class and the student that sell the most tickets.

The carnival is PTO’s major fundraiser. It is where we earn most of our funds to do things like get items for the classrooms, purchase playground equipment, and for our walking trail. We have almost reached our goal for the walking trail. It will hopefully be completed this spring. The next item we’d like to purchase is an electronic sign for the front of the school. This will be a great way to keep everyone up to date on what’s happening at HVS.

AUCTIONS:
The silent auction is back. We will be having both a silent and a live auction. The silent auction will be a basket auction and include baskets from our classes. The live auction will start @ 7:00 in the Gym. Terry Danahy will be our auctioneer.

Computers for Education:
We did the computers for education fundraiser again this year. Each student was given a booklet of postcards to fill out with addresses. We get $0.50 for every address. This year’s scooter winner was Brady Kinder in Mrs. Rogers class

Email Coordinator: Email newsletters, and other school info
Historian: Collect Pictures/yearly Scrapbook
